“A Magical Day at Tokyo Disneyland … Before It All Changed”
It was supposed to be just another magical day at Tokyo Disneyland — fine but cloudy day, crowds buzzing with excitement, and the promise of countless adventures waiting to unfold. Little did we know, this would be the last day we’d experience the park in its full glory before it closed due to the pandemic. Looking back, it almost feels like a dream.
As soon as we stepped into the park, we were surrounded by the magic of Tokyo Disneyland. From the iconic castle to the familiar tunes floating through the air, everything felt surreal and enchanting. Unknowingly, that day soon became the last day before everything shut down. And we were there before that happened. 😇🍀
Pirates of the Caribbean was thrilling with its winding, water-filled paths, and the eerie but exciting sense of being pulled into the pirate world.
And then there was the Mark Twain Riverboat, where we got to sail around the park’s scenic waters, feeling like we were on our own little adventure.
Other attractions we went to were Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Alice’s Tea Party, “it’s a small world”, Haunted Mansion, Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall, Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, Big Thunder Mountain, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, and Space Mountain.
There’s something so uniquely spellbinding about Disneyland. Maybe it’s the feeling of being transported into a world where anything is possible.
And who would have thought I’d still enjoy riding roller coasters at my age considering that it has been a while since I last rode one. Despite the time away, the interval made the thrill even more exciting when we returned. The feeling of speed, the twists, and the adrenaline never really fade, and it’s fun to experience that rush all over again.
By the time we were reaching the exit of the park, still enjoying taking pictures and the nighttime scenery, there was a quiet realization among the crowds. No one knew it yet, but the following day, Tokyo Disneyland would close its doors for the foreseeable future. Maybe it was the finality of it all, but every moment felt just a little bit more special.
In the end, we were lucky to experience one last day in the happiest place on Earth before everything changed. Looking back, it feels even more magical knowing how rare and fleeting that moment was. I could only write a compelling, heartfelt blog post with some nostalgia mixed in to document this unforgettable event in my life. Now, every time I think of Tokyo Disneyland, it’s not just about the rides or the attractions. It’s about appreciating the little joys we take for granted, and how special those moments are, especially when life takes an unexpected turn.
From “When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are…” to “A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you’re fast asleep…”, these lyrics have always resonated with me. It’s been my childhood dream to visit Tokyo Disneyland, and finally, that dream came true. But this won’t be the only Disneyland that we will visit. I’ll make sure of that. Big or small, never stop dreaming until the dream is no longer just a dream.
