Writing is one of the therapeutic hobbies of mine. I write, especially blogs to mitigate my stress, to keep the periodic occurrences of my boring days busy, and to constantly improve myself.

Entry: I instantly became a math teacher.

I would say that I am a flexible English teacher. I teach grammar, pronunciation; I create teaching materials; I facilitate mock tests for varieties of English-language tests. I help students to develop their critical thinking skills when answering questions. I even help them with their homework such as proofreading essays, speeches, and whatnot. However, today was totally unexpected. A little girl called and asked me to help her with her assignment. I immediately said yes ’cause she was cute (I’m just kidding. 🧸) but I was flabbergasted because it wasn’t English at all. It was math. I couldn’t take my answer back and just went on with it. Well, she was (I guess) lucky that it just so happened that I like math thus I helped her without a second thought.
In case you want to know what the math problem was, here it is.
Use the clues to find the mystery 5-digit number.
Clue 1: All the digits are different.
Clue 2: The thousands digit is 7 more than the tens digit.
Clue 3: The hundreds digit is the sum of the thousands digit and the ones digit.
Clue 4: The total of the digits when added together is 24.
My answer is 6,7902.
Albeit I’m 80% sure that my answer is correct, this is certainly a testament to my versatility.

Sometime on the first week of June, I probably gained 1000 followers on Pinterest. I wasn’t able to do any of my tasks at that time because I took a vacation. Hopefully, this will open new doors for me in the area of affiliate marketing.

Today’s topic with my Chinese student is about e-commerce and where he buys his clothes. Shein, which is an online fast fashion retailer headquartered in Singapore and founded in Nanjing, China is one of the apps (or sites) he mentioned. When he uttered this word “Shein”, I immediately realized that I have been wrongly pronouncing this brand for a very long time. I confirmed the correct pronunciation of this. And he told me that they, Chinese people, pronounce it as “SHII-in”.

The brief encounter with a Brazilian student and a Spiritist made me realize how vast the religious landscape is. Along with the current ones I know, Spiritist Doctrine is the latest addition to my vocabulary.

Like the Japanese language, Korean language also has honorifics. And honorifics are titles people use to convey esteem, courtesy, or respect for position or rank when used in addressing or referring to a person.
A few months ago, I met a Korean student at work. She is a beautiful person inside and out. We have a lot of things in common and we click so we decided to take our relationship to the next level. Though I am 15 years her senior, the large age gap didn’t hinder us from becoming friends. And today, she called me “unnie” which means older sister for the first time. That made me ecstatic and I was tickled pink, too.

Today, I met a student from Sudan. We had a wide-ranging conversation, touching on many topics, including my website. At the end of our chat, he promised to call me back, as he wanted to share his personal thoughts on it. True to his word, he followed through. There’s something truly refreshing about receiving feedback from strangers — people who come from entirely different backgrounds, with varying beliefs and cultures. While their perspectives may differ from my own, there is an authenticity to their opinions. After all, these evaluations come from individuals untainted by bias or preconceived notions.

Today, I met an Egyptian student. I told him that Egypt is one of the countries I dream to visit someday. I am always fascinated with their pyramids. And thinking about how people were able to build these impressive structures in the ancient times is truly incredible. He taught me this Arabic word “In Shaa Allah”. It means “if God wills”. And my dreams will come true if God wills it.

Today is the schedule of my weekly upload on acantha.likes.to.share. It’s my first time to pin a post, too. I would like to share the two videos that I’ve posted on Instagram that reached another milestone for me.
Currently, this video has the most number of likes (39K+). But personally, the video of the birds is my most favorite among the videos I’ve uploaded by far. It only has 600+ hearts. It’s still the best for me though so I pinned it as well.

Why are there plenty of people saying that they are “introverts” these days? Is introversion becoming a trend? I am taken aback. What is this? Self-proclamation? How assumptive! Oh well, one thing is for sure. It takes one to know one. And for me, YOU ARE NOT!!!

Months ago, I received a rejection letter from Rakuten Advertising. [For your information] Rakuten Advertising, formerly known as Rakuten Marketing, is an affiliate marketing service provider. The reason why my application was refused is because, in order for me to become a publisher, I needed to have at least 500 followers (or subscribers). Pretty straightforward, huh. That was in February. And today, at exactly 7:56AM, I gained 501 followers. Should I reapply now? I’m thinking. 🤔

So I met this guy from Turkey in 2020. I would say that he’s the most handsome student I’ve met so far. We talked for two years, and then he suddenly stopped studying English. I wonder where he is now. 🤔

Recently, I stumbled upon a teaser on KakaoPage’s YouTube channel that immediately caught my eye. The reason? It’s because of a familiar face that I had once seen on Netflix. I couldn’t resist clicking the video, especially since it was a Webtoons promo and the actress was simply stunning. As I watched, a spark of recognition flickered within me. I remembered the title of the manhwa, realizing I had read a few chapters of it in the past. Intrigued, I dug a little deeper into the actress’ background and discovered that she had starred in several notable dramas such as The World of the Married, Nevertheless, My Name, and whatnot. Captivated by her charm, I decided to follow her on Instagram. Her striking resemblance to Song Hye-kyo (another actress I’m undoubtedly a fan of) added to her allure. I can’t help but feel drawn to this new star.
